JEE Main 2027 : Eligibility Criteria & 75% Admission Criteria

• Qualifying Examination : Candidates must have passed Class 12th / equivalent qualifying examination in 2025, 2026, or appearing in 2027 with Physics, Mathematics, and one of Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational subject.
• Age Limit : There is no upper age limit for candidates appearing in the JEE Main examination.
• NIT/IIIT/CFTI 75% Admission Rule : For admission to National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and CFTIs through JoSAA/CSAB counselling, candidates must secure at least 75% aggregate marks in Class 12 board examination (65% for SC/ST candidates) OR be in the Top 20 Percentile of their respective education boards.
• Number of Attempts : Candidates can appear in JEE (Main) for three consecutive years from the year of passing Class 12th.

• Grand Total : 75 Questions | 300 Maximum Marks | 3 Hours Duration.

• Marking Scheme : +4 Marks for every correct answer; -1 Mark (Negative Marking) for every incorrect answer (applicable to both Section A and Section B).

• Medium of Exam : Conducted in 13 languages (English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu).

Documents Required for JEE Main 2027 Online Application

• Recent passport-size photograph (color or black/white with 80% face visible against a white background).
• Scanned signature of the candidate in running handwriting on white paper.
• Aadhaar Card / DigiLocker / ABC ID / Passport for identity authentication during registration.
• Class 10th and Class 12th marksheet/certificate (or Class 12 admit card details for appearing students).
• Category Certificate (SC / ST / OBC-NCL / Gen-EWS), if applicable.
• PwD Certificate issued by competent medical authority, if claiming reservation/scribe benefits.

How To Fill JEE Main 2027 Online Application Form

1. First of all visit the official NTA JEE Main examination portal at jeemain.nta.nic.in or Click on the link given below in the Important Link Section.
2. Click on the active link titled “JEE (Main) 2027 Registration / Application Form”.
3. Authenticate your identity using Aadhaar Number / DigiLocker / Passport / Pan Card to initiate registration.
4. Fill in your basic personal details, permanent and present address, choose a secure password, and submit to generate your Application Number.
5. Log in with your Application Number and Password to complete academic details and select Paper (Paper 1, Paper 2A, or Paper 2B).
6. Choose four preferred examination cities in order of priority.
7. Upload clear scanned copies of your photograph and signature in the prescribed format.
8. Pay the examination fee online through Net Banking, Debit/Credit Card, or UPI gateway.
9. Download and print the final Confirmation Page for JoSAA admission records.
